Aircel to offer free 3G data with select D-Link dongles, routers
Aircel has tied up with D-Link to offer
free data to new users of D-Link data card ‘D-Link DWM-156’ and routers
‘D-Link DWR-512' and 'DWR-730'. Airtel will be offering customers 1 GB
of free 3G data per month for a period of 3 months.
To avail the benefits, customers need to
make a total recharge of Rs. 100 per month post activation; free 3G
benefits will be over and above recharge benefits.
Anupam Vasudev, Chief Marketing Officer -
Aircel, says “A recent report by IAMAI and IMRB estimates that by June
2014, India will have 243 million Internet users, at which point of
time, it is expected to overtake the US as the second largest Internet
base in the world. This clearly indicates that India is now experiencing
a data revolution and operator- device tie-ups will play a significant
role in strengthening the telecom ecosystem, which is critical to fuel
this growth. We are confident that with D-Link’s superior hardware
technology and Aircel’s robust network capabilities, we will be able to
provide a wholesome 3G experience to our customers.”
Anoop Jarial, VP – Product Marketing,
D-Link (India) Limited, says: “With our association with Aircel, we aim
to provide consumers with a unique online experience that is exclusively
designed to meet customer demand. D-Link’s innovative & user
friendly 3G devices like DWM-156 & DWR-730 are sure to offer
seamless access to high-definition content, music, movie etc. anytime,
anywhere.”
Aircel has been focussing on the data market for quite some time. The operator recently tied up with Micromax to offer bundled data, voice and content packages. The new tie up comes shortly after the operator introduced new unified data tariffs for its 2G and 3G customers.
