Vodafone announces new affordable international roaming plans

Vodafone India has announced new and affordable international roaming packs for its postpaid and prepaid customers travelling abroad. Vodafone's new packs cover 53 countries including UK, USA, UAE, Thailand and Singapore. The operator says new international roaming packs give up to 95 percent discount on data and up to 78 percent discount on outgoing local and international calls as compared with prevailing rates.

The international roaming packs are available for a rental of Rs. 599 and Rs. 1499 and come with a validity of 10 and 30 days respectively. For the list of applicable countries and networks, a subscriber need to SMS Pack<space>country to 111.

To activate the pack of their choice, Vodafone subscribers need to SMS ACT<space>IR1 for the Rs. 599 pack and ACT<space>IR2 for the Rs. 1499 pack. The entire list of countries where the offer on these packs is valid can be accessed at www.vodafone.co.in

Vodafone's new international roaming packs

Under the new packs, customers will be charged Rs. 30/MB for data download while roaming overseas, offering a 95 percent discount as compared to current rates. Outgoing local and international calls will be charged at Rs. 15/minute and Rs. 30/minute respectively, a discount of about 78 percent over current rates. Incoming calls will cost Rs. 30/min (over 50% discount on prevailing rates). The Rs. 1499 plan in additional offers 30 mins of free incoming calls.
